A sad and necessary poem, and beautiful of you to create it. I read it with the calls from those girls in the car as my mind's soundtrack. We heard the teen being shot by the Israeli's. Now they found the body of the little one, and the ambulance with two paramedics who went to rescue her bombed out nearby.
Yes, agree. And Israelis cannot say 'we didn't know' because they know that nearly half the population are children, they know that most of the bombs they are using are not targeted, they know they are bombing hospitals, ambulances, homes, schools, refugee centres. The only conclusion is that they want to kill as many of the next generation as they can.
We are well well past the stage of “we didn’t know”. They know very well what they are doing, and so does the rest of the world. These crimes will be seared in our hearts forever. Thank you for your beautifully painful poem.
I doubt most people understand how damaged and debased Israeli society is and how they actually don't care even if they do know because they truly do believe they are exceptional and entitled as Jews, to do anything they want without censure. The society is mentally ill to the point of psychoses. There are exceptions but not enough to stop their madness.
For most Israelis to comprehend that their actions and their State are wrong, evil in fact, is impossible because it would mean holding themselves accountable and as eternal and supreme victims that cannot be done.
To be held accountable would make them mere humans instead of the superior humans they believe themselves to be, and need to believe themselves to be. The mentally ill usually cannot help themselves and must be helped by others. That is where the world has failed Israelis since they invented themselves in 1947.
So, in terms of the atrocities they commit I am not sure Israelis do know very well what they are doing because they are totally convinced of their perfection and the subhuman nature of the Palestinians as non-Jews.
I have to agree with you that most people don’t understand the gravity of depravity in the Israeli society, because if I don’t that would mean humanity is in a very dark place and I don’t to believe that.
To get just a glimpse into the debasement, I highly recommend the movie Israelism. It can be rented for $5 on its site:
Excellent.
I had to do something similar a while back, if you’ll permit a share….

I’m truly so sad.
I can’t wrap my head around how this is happening in front of the entire world.
Thank you for this, Roslyn. 😔
Many of us feel the same and spreading the story of Palestine is something we can do to help.

Yes, little Hind, six years old, calling for help. Killed as a terrorist and the world lets it happen.
That pained me more than most, but unlike the silent children beneath the rubble, those phone calls will spread horror and help justice rain later.
