Why so uncommon today? People "outsourcing" their judgment and decision-making to the "experts". When did society become so other-reliant?

Is why doctors, for instance, were some of the worst compliers during the "COVID" plandemic - no common sense, because they've been indoctrinated in med school to follow the rules. Have to toe the line in order to "make the grade" and finish schooling/training.

In contrast, many "blue collar workers" whose lives and health depend on knowing exactly what's going on, and what they need to know to get things done correctly, did not follow the "medical authorities" on "COVID". I know, for instance, of a few building contractors who did not believe any of the rubbish on TV and refused to mask or take the jabs. There was also that Black gentleman in a Washington DC neighborhood who told Fauci and the DC Mayor to their faces exactly what he thought about the CV shots, and how he did not trust them at all (all caught on TV).

Unrelated - I was surprised to find out that I was not subscribed to your 'stack! I was sure that I did subscribe several weeks ago, so dunno what happened there!

Yes, agree. Some of the most intelligent people I have ever met, including my father, left school at 12 and some of the most stupid had a string of PhD's to their name.

You might be right. Perhaps common sense is not so uncommon but simply not recognised and, if it is, derided.

And yes, I remember you subscribing so who knows why the bots dumped you or compromised my list.

--> "Or why making sense of things is integral to optimal thought and function" <<<<<

I would say that a related important question is of "high velocity sense making techniques". People parse information through an epistemic consensus filter. They do not ask “is this true”, they ask “will others be OK with me thinking this is true”

I think some people do that, perhaps many, but that is the point, those with common sense do not.

"Common sense would say that Trump wants to stop war and yet keeps sending bombs and weapons to Israel, means he does not want to stop war."

Just an important caveat. The $B in bombs that Trump has promised Israel have not yet been sent. Per Reuters, they won't even start being sent until next year.

In the meantime, Trump has asked Putin to mediate negotiations with Iran, & Putin has agreed. Trump is also looking to build bridges with Venezuela & Putin has talked about joint oil exploration in the arctic.

And Egypt had brought forth a proposal to rebuild Gaza with the Palestinian people remaining in Gaza & the Arab league has agreed.

Promises are cheap. But until those weapons are delivered, anything can happen. And they can'y be delivered until they are built.

It appears that behind the scenes Trump may be preparing to cut our dependence on our "land based aircraft carrier." That it is seen as the dead weight that it is. With so many zios in high places he can't walk away so easily as from Ukr, but there is a fair chance he's paving the way.

Yes, I was aware of those factors. But good to see them repeated and clarified.

What do you make of Trump's statement yesterday? It is totally genocidal and appalling for any Leader, so what is the game? Playing the Israelis or does he mean it? Does he mean anything.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday told the people of Gaza to give up captives or face "HELL" and told the Hamas group's leadership to flee the territory.

"To the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!" Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

In the same post, the president also issued what he called a "last warning" to Hamas to release all remaining captives held in Gaza.

Trump, soon after meeting at the White House with eight former captives, added that he was "sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job".

"This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance," he posted. "I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say."

"Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you," Trump added. "Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!"

His comments follow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's warning of "consequences that you cannot imagine" if Hamas does not hand over remaining captives seized in the 7 October attack.

The pointed language from Trump came after the White House said on Wednesday that US officials have engaged in "ongoing talks and discussions" with Hamas officials, stepping away from a long-held US policy of not directly engaging in the militant group.

He made that same "promise" of hell a couple weeks ago. Hamas held fast & nothing happened.

Per Reuters, the new tranche of weapons he promised to Israel won't even start to be delivered until next year. That suggests they haven't even been built yet.

He asked Putin to mediate negotiation with Iran & Putin accepted.

There is no way of knowing how much is performance & how much is real. Everything is in flux. He is not used to being defied, certainly by people of true faith.

So anything can happen in any direction. I refuse to give up hope.

Yes, he makes a lot of hysterical statements which amount to nothing.

Not sure anything which comes from his area can be believed. I have an open mind and agree there may be other games at play which may or may not work and which may give outcomes most do not imagine, including the Israelis.

Ha! Well, we are being played very well in this Theatre of the Absurd!

I suppose we should just all wait and see what really happens in all these areas of concern.

It is encouraging to see the Arabs themselves step up to the plate and help rebuild Gaza, and it seems Hamas is agreeable to the terms.

Thank you for clarifying the "sending the bombs" comment. I hope you're right.

Trump's insanity-level bombast may be all heat signifying nothing - except for the effects it may have to push other parties to act.

Very interesting times we live in, no?

Theatre of the Absurd is spot on. Like being in a circus except it is not funny.

Yes, I also thought it was encouraging to see the Arabs step up. They are very reluctant to do so and not united. Ironic really all this fear of Islam in so many people and Islam is the dominant religion for the Arab world and yet they are not, in this age anyway, warmongering people.

The important thing about the Arab plan is that it exists and taking a stand, any stand against the American hegemonic bully is an important step because it makes it easier to take another and possibly bigger step.

Is not that a Chinese curse? May you live in interesting times?

Just my view, but I think that for some Catholics, the fear of Islam takes hold in their consciousness because of the Catholic priests and laity who are being kidnapped or killed in Africa (Nigeria, etc) by the self-confessed Muslim group, Boko Haram, or else by ISIS. So, Catholics jump to the conclusion that it's because they're Muslim that they are taking out Catholics! (It *could* be true, but what the real agenda is - I really don't know. There's very little reporting and investigation into these incidents.)

I myself doubt the organicity of those Muslim groups since we know that the CIA and Mo$$ad have been creating these "jihadists" to attack and kill innocents in order to foment anti-Muslim sentiment. Just like ISIS and that group that just took over Syria. And I'm frustrated with many Catholics in this, because I think it's just a myopic reflex - constantly recalling our history from hundreds of years ago when the Ottoman Empire was the sworn enemy of Christendom, etc.. Few even consider the point you have wisely raised - the current the context. It's the crazy western hegemon doing all the killing and destruction in so many places in the world!

I am hoping the Arabs finally do get together to help the Palestinians rebuild Gaza. (And how about those oil-rich states - they've got more than enough moolah to help out!). Only the Houthis of Yemen and Hezbollah of Lebanon among the Arab neighbors have shown concrete support for the Palestinians. If he were still alive today, Muammar Ghaddafi would be helping them, too, I'm sure.

And - yes it is! A Chinese curse, that is.

Perhaps but why then do Catholics not also react to the far greater incidence of Hindus murdering Christians as they do?

It was common when I lived in India in the late Eighties and early Nineties and it continues today. Hindus are constantly murdering Christians and Muslims but no-one talks about that.

I think the major factor is decades of Zionist propaganda promoting the delusional concept that Islam plans to take over the world, despite the fact, the Muslim world is not united and even if it were, would have a trivial military capacity compared to the West and India and China.

And if they think it would happen by conversion they are even more deranged. Although women excepted, some might look at how the Palestinian Muslims (and Christians) treated their prisoners compared to how the Jews treated theirs and want to know more about Islam.

Thing is - we don't even know much about what's happening in the South Asian peninsula w.r.t. any attacks upon Catholics. There was a rare news report about a bombing of a Catholic church a year or so ago. Not clearly mentioned who was responsible for it. But that is it! It does not take up much space or interest in the Western media. Could be deliberately controlled and manipulated by those who own the global media conglomerates.

It is also true what you say- the Palestinians' astonishingly muted reactions to all those unspeakable atrocities being done to them by the most evil people in the world does make one curious about the influence of Islam on that. It made ME think about that, too! That might be something unique to the Palestinian experience, but I don't know enough about faith in other Muslim countries in general to make an educated comment on it.

Persecuted people tend to commit more to religion because it keeps them sane and strong. Religion tends to become more fundamentalist but that has not really happened in Palestine despite Israeli claims. There are some radicals but generally, after thousands of years of being occupied, nothing as evil and ghastly as the Jewraelis, the Palestinians are a fairly patient and pragmatic people. I should say, they appear to be.

There were a couple of previous episodes of violence against the savages who occupy their country, during the last 76 years, but compared to their suffering, very little, including October 7.

Palestinians have also had high levels of education and respect for education and are not simple serfs despite shitraeli claims. They also have a strong literary culture but then that is common in the Arab and perhaps Arab Muslim worlds given their history of academic brilliance.

I don't think Islam offers anything really different to any other religion, faith in God, used to support and comfort in times of the most terrible suffering.

He appears to be dancing & jabbing to keep his enemies confused while he moves pieces into place. If he moves too directly, the assassination attempts will finish him. His bombast is flak, intended to misdirect.

More on the Arab front: Egypt, along with its rebuild proposal, moved tanks & military to the border, where they've been performing exercises. Turkey had threatened to run right through Syria to Gaza. Trump has been moving US troops out of Syria, clearing the way for Turkey. Apparently for weeks, Witzkoff has been quietly meeting with Hamas in Qatar -- the 1st time in history. The ceasefire has bought time for Hamas & Hezbollah to rebuild & replenish.

All we can do is support the Palestinian people through orgs like Red Crescent (reachable through the Red Cross), the Hind Rajab Foundation & other, lesser known groups.

Be steadfast in support; if possible protest.

And invest in popcorn & Depends.

You have described it as I have sensed it might be happening. Keep the Jewzioraelis a bit confused but placated by playing up to their plans while working behind the scenes for a chance at real peace. Let us hope we are right.

If the Jewzioraelis think Trump is on their side and will help them take all of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, the first phase of their grand plan, then they will not take him out regardless of how he does it or seems to be doing it.

I knew the Egyptians had moved tanks to the border with Palestine/Gaza but did not know about events in Turkey or Syria. Even more heartening.

And yes, the mere fact Trump and co. are talking to Hamas is massive. So they should of course but for it to happen is a huge leap.

Ukraine has strategic minerals, not rare earth minerals, and they're mostly not extracted because they stubbornly want to remain in the ground.
